Cold Sesame Soba Noodles
Looking for something cool and refreshing to eat in the summer months? Brooklyn just got hit with the first heat wave of summer and it’s pretty intense. Since it’s only May, it will probably be a brutal summer. Make these noodles and keep yourself cool and happy all season. Not only are they delicious, they’re really healthy.

Three Bean Salad
This is one of my grandma’s recipes. It takes me back to when she made it when my siblings and I were young and we’d go up to visit her in the beautiful summers in Pennsylvania. It’s a great salad to make a big batch of and keep in the fridge, or to bring to a barbecue or picnic.

Bottled rosemary lemonade...

This banana cake was made for a good friend and colleague’s birthday and will heretofore be referred to as Kelly’s Banana Cake. It has a really nice banana-y taste and isn’t overly sweet. When you bake this cake it will fill your house with an irresistible aroma.

For my birthday Evan got me Takashi Yagihashi’s noodle cookbook and I’ve been reading it cover to cover. I synthesized a ramen recipe that could be made with ingredients I already had in the house and it came out pretty damn well.

Strawberry Cake with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
My favorite birthday cake since I was a kid was strawberry cake with vanilla frosting. In the past I’ve used the artificial pink cake mix (which, like strawberry Nesquik, certainly gets the job done but is still disgustingly sweet and fake). This year I decided it can’t be that hard to use the flavor and coloring of real strawberries to make a killer cake. And to be honest, I really...
