MN State Fair 2012

Back again for the third year. See pics from last year and the year before.

More pics from this year after the jump.

The agriculture/horticulture building is my favorite building at the fair.

They have competitions for best corn crop, they have seed art, and they have original vintage seed sacks on display.

The honey ice cream with sunflower seeds is something we keep coming back for.

This is always a favorite. Farmers’ daughters likenesses carved out of 90 pound blocks of butter. This feels like pure Minnesota.

Deep fried cheese curds are the jam. You can’t miss em!

Jordan sluggin some winning baseballs for the break a bottle Midway game.

Another corndog. I ate five of these and I am not ashamed. They are just so perfect. And for the record I am NOT a fan of pronto pups, poncho dogs put them to shame.

These little fuckers are deep fried Reuben balls. Yes like a Reuben sandwich. Served with thousand island dressing. Jesus.

I’d have to say my favorite food of the fair was actually deep fried green beans served with chipotle dipping sauce, which I believe was a new addition this year. They are not pictured because I devoured them instantly.

Oh yeah this is me hanging with Mötley Crüe. nbd.

Post Fair:

We went to Matt’s Bar for a good ol’ juicy lucy, french fries, and good ol’ midwestern beer.

Then we had a barbecue. Jordan smoked a brisket and made a fatty.

The is the fatty after being smoked. It has garlic, rosemary, apple, and maple syrup rolled up in it.

We ate the delicious meats with watermelon, fresh Minnesotan corn, tomato salad, and collard greens. And of course some Leinenkugels.

Then we played with fireworks. It ruled.
